WHAT TO DO IN LISBON: THE 10 BEST ACTIVITIES

ACCORDING TO STRUCTURA.BIZ

Lisbon is a vibrant city with colorful buildings, charming restaurants, trendy bars, and delicious pastries! Our team had a wonderful time there, and it turned out to be the perfect destination for a fantastic team-building exercise and the reward for achieving Structura.Biz’s shared goal.

Whether you’re planning a trip to Lisbon with friends, family, or, like us, colleagues, here’s a list of 10 activities you definitely shouldn’t miss when visiting the Portuguese capital:

  1. Enjoy an afternoon at the beach

Less than a 20-minute drive from Lisbon, you can reach the beach of Costa de Caparica. Costa de Caparica is known for its sandy beach and powerful surf. To get there, cross the famous Ponte 25 Abril, often compared to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

  1. Eat the Portuguese delicacy: Pasteis de Belém

If you love Pasteis de Nata, you definitely have to try one of Belém’s most famous egg tarts, sprinkled with cinnamon… Delicious!

  1. Walk through Lisbon with a local, because “As a local we know the area”

Explore the streets of Lisbon on foot and uncover every secret of the city thanks to a local guide who will take you to hidden spots.

  1. Feeling a little peckish after your walk on the beach? Try the Pão Com Chouriço.

Merendeira is a typical Portuguese restaurant that serves the traditional Pão Com Chouriço (bread with Portuguese chorizo). This typical dish is baked in specially built clay ovens. True locals (like us) enjoy it with a Caldo Verde (vegetable soup).

  1. Drinking cocktails at a hidden rooftop bar

Not easy to find, but definitely worth it is the Rooftop Bar “PARK.” It’s located on the roof of a parking garage! Once up there, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and delicious cocktails, surrounded by lounge music and dancing people.

  1. Take a photo in Pink Street

Instagram addicts will love this street! Rua Nova do Carvalho is called “Pink Street” because the pavement is painted pink. At night, this street becomes a bustling place with many bars and clubs where you can dance the night away.

  1. Visit the Tower of Belém

The Tower of Belém is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The structure was built in the early 16th century to commemorate Vasco da Gama’s voyages of discovery and the grandeur of Portuguese power.

  1. Having lunch at Don Beija.

Don Beija is a nice restaurant where you can taste Brazilian dishes while enjoying live music.

  1. Drinking Gingjinha

Ginjinha is a Portuguese liqueur made with ginja berries. Every Lisboeta knows someone who distills it at home. Tourists often get it served in a chocolate cup, but the best Ginjinha is served by a local.

  1. Take a walk in the Bairro Alto neighborhood

Bairro Alto is Lisbon’s artists’ quarter. Admire the graffiti-covered facades and enjoy the vibrant nightlife in the many bars and restaurants.
